URUGUAY NATIONAL TEAM

The Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol (AUF) represents Uruguay’s national football team, one of the most historic and respected sides in world football. Established in 1900, AUF has been at the forefront of South American football development and is a founding member of both FIFA and CONMEBOL.

Uruguay’s national team, governed by AUF, has a proud legacy, winning the first FIFA World Cup in 1930 on home soil and again in 1950, famously defeating Brazil in the “Maracanazo.” The team also holds a record number of Copa América titles, underlining its dominance in continental football.

Known as La Celeste (The Sky Blues), the AUF football team is recognized for its fierce competitiveness, tactical discipline, and passionate playing style. Over the years, it has produced world-class talents such as Luis Suárez, Diego Forlán, Edinson Cavani, and Diego Godín, who have carried Uruguay’s footballing pride on the global stage.
