The Federación Dominicana de Fútbol (FDF) is the official governing body of football in the Dominican Republic. Founded in 1953 and affiliated with FIFA since 1959, the FDF oversees the development, organization, and promotion of football across all levels in the country. It is also a proud member of CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU).
The FDF is responsible for managing the Dominican Republic national teams—including the men’s, women’s, and youth squads—while also driving grassroots initiatives, domestic leagues, and talent development programs. In recent years, the federation has focused on modernizing football infrastructure, improving coaching standards, and providing more opportunities for young players, aligning with its long-term vision of making football one of the nation’s leading sports.
With growing international participation and investment in player development, the FDF plays a central role in expanding the Dominican Republic’s presence on the global football stage. Its mission goes beyond competition—it seeks to inspire communities, unite fans, and foster a strong footballing culture in a country traditionally dominated by baseball.
